The Workforce Index compiles data from participating companies, averaging over 80 participants per quarter. It is based on five different employment measures:
- Employment levels
- Recruiting difficulty
- Job vacancies
- Employment expectation
Each component is ranked in a range of value from a low of -100 to a high of +100. Values over 0 indicate increased levels of that component, and the strength of each value is measured by its distance from 0. An overall index value is also calculated as a weighted average of the five components. The results are relevant to the preceding quarter.
The Workforce Index is available at no charge to any restaurant operator who participates in it each quarter.
